Whether you're upgrading a sportfish, refitting a center console, or planning a full electronics build on a motor yacht, O-SEA-D Marine Electronics designs custom helm panels and dash layouts for vessels across Jupiter, Stuart, Palm Beach, and the broader South Florida and Treasure Coast region. Every panel is engineered around your specific boat, your installed gear, and how you actually use the helm.

A helm panel build is more than cutting holes for displays. A well-designed panel integrates your full electronics package — chartplotters, radar, sonar, autopilot, VHF, switches, breakers, and cable management — into a layout that's clean, ergonomic, and built to last in a marine environment.
Our custom helm panel service includes:
We work with every major marine electronics brand, including Garmin, Furuno, JL Audio, Marantz, Seakeeper, Starlink, and BRNKL — and design helm layouts that integrate these systems cleanly, regardless of manufacturer.
Start by uploading photos of your current helm — straight on, from the captain's seat, and from the side. Tell us what electronics you're running, what you'd like to add, and any layout issues you've run into.

Timeline: Submission takes 5 minutes.
This is where the details matter. Once we have your photos, we'll follow up to confirm:
The more specific you can be up front, the more accurate your layout and quote will be. Captains who fish offshore often have different priorities (sonar real estate, dual-display redundancy) than those running closer to home, we design accordingly.
Timeline: 1–2 business days.
Once we know the full scope, we send a detailed quote covering materials, fabrication, electronics, and labor. If anything looks off or you want to adjust the scope, this is the time to flag it.
Timeline: 2–3 business days after specs are finalized.
Once the quote is approved, our in-house fabricator, builds the CAD drawing showing exact screen placement, switch positions, panel dimensions, and cable routing. Every measurement is tied to your specific vessel, not pulled from a generic template.
You'll get a detailed proposal to review. We walk through it together, make revisions until the layout matches how you want to run your boat, and lock the design before any material gets cut.
Timeline: Initial CAD layout typically ready in 3–5 business days.
Once your design is approved, we fabricate the panel in-house using our CNC machine and install the full system aboard your vessel. Our installers arecertified by ABYC, NMEA, Airmar, and Garmin — meaning your install meets industry standards for wiring, networking, and transducer placement.
Timeline: Installation length depends on scope. We give you a clear estimate before work begins.
Skipping the design phase is how boats end up with cluttered helms, blind spots, and panels that can't accommodate future upgrades. A planned layout means:
How much does a custom helm panel cost?
Pricing depends on panel size, material, the number of displays and switches, and the complexity of integration. Most custom helm panel projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000, with full electronics integration on larger sportfish or motor yachts running higher. We provide a detailed quote after gathering your specs, no estimates without specifics.
How long does the helm design and install process take?
From initial photo submission to completed install, most projects take 4 to 8 weeks. The design phase typically takes 1–2 weeks (depending on revision rounds), with fabrication and installation following. Larger refits or motor yacht builds may take longer.
Do you work on sportfish, center consoles, and motor yachts?
Yes. We design helm panels for sportfish vessels, motor yachts, and center consoles — from offshore tournament boats to cruising motor yachts. Each helm is designed around the vessel type and how the owner uses it.
Can you integrate Garmin and Furuno displays in the same helm?
Yes. We regularly design dual-brand helms using Garmin BlueNet, Furuno NavNet, and bridging adapters. The SCANDALOUS refit is one recent example of a fully integrated Garmin and Furuno layout.
Do I need to know exactly what electronics I want before I contact you?
No. If you're not sure what you need, that's part of the conversation. We can recommend chartplotters, radar, sonar, and integration packages based on how you fish or run your boat. Bring us your goals and we'll help spec the package.
Where are you located, and what areas do you serve?
We're based in Jupiter, FL, and serve Palm Beach County, Martin County, and the broader Treasure Coast and South Florida region. For larger projects, we travel to other vessel locations on request.
What if I just want a helm design without the install?
Most of our clients have us handle both, but we can produce CAD layouts and design proposals as a standalone service. Reach out and we'll walk through what makes sense for your build.
The fastest way to get the design process moving. Submit a few photos and tell us what you're working with. We'll take it from there.
